Decoding and troubleshooting Norton error 8504, 104

First, try to reboot your device

Download and run the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool

If you are using Norton on your device, then remove the program before you download and run the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool.
  1. Go to the official Norton website and download the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool.
  2. Press CTRL+J keys simultaneously to open the “Downloads” Window in your web browser.
  3. Find the NRnR executable file and double-click on it
  4. Accept the conditions of an end-user license agreement
  5. Press “Advanced Option” button

  6. Press “Remove Only”
  7. Press “Remove”
  8. Click “Restart Now”
Once the computer restarts, follow the guidelines visible on your screen to reinstall the Norton Security.

Uninstall any security software other than Norton

  1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box
  2. Now, type “appwiz.cpl” in the Run box and hit the enter button
  3. From the drop-down list of recently installed programs, select the non-Norton products and get it out of the system by clicking on Uninstall or Remove.

Update the Video Graphics Driver

  1. Press the Windows + R keys simultaneously to start the Run dialog box
  2. Type “devmgmt.msc” and hit the enter button
  3. Go to the “Device Manager” window, and click twice on Display Adaptors
  4. Click right on the HD graphics card, and select “properties”
  5. You need to check whether the Graphic Card Driver is current or outdated by visiting the “Driver” tab
  6. In case, you find the Driver outdated, then you need to download and install the latest updates of the Graphic Card driver.
  7. Now, select your Graphic card Manufacturing Company such as NVIDIA Graphics
  8. Now, restart your PC and check the problem is solved
