Troubleshooting “Cannot Connect to the Norton Server” error

When you try to activate your Norton antivirus error, the error message “Unexpected Browser error or Cannot connect to the Norton server” appears on your screen. To resolve this issue, you need to check your PC is connected to the internet or not. Restart your system. If you still face the problem on your PC powered by Windows 10 OS, change your default web browser.

To change your default web browser, follow the steps:

1. Go to the Start Menu located at right bottom of your screen
2. Go to the “settings” option and then “system”
3. Click “Default apps”
4. From the Web Browser, select the web browser you want to setup as default
5. Activate the Norton Setup

If you have Windows XP or Vista, follow the steps

First, you need to exit all the programs and restart your system. If the problem persists, then change the default web browser:

1. Press the Windows + R keys simultaneously to start the “RUN” dialog box
2. Type “control” and hit the enter button. Click “Continue” if the “User Account Control” displays
3. Go to the “Control Panel” located next to “View By”, select “Category” option from the drop-down list
4. Click the “Program” option in the Control Panel section
5. Now, click on “Set your default program” located beneath the “Default Programs” Section
6. Under “programs” section in the section below “Set your default program” click on your preferred browser and then press “Set this program as default”
7. Press “OK” to compete for the procedure
